If you're looking for a peaceful and picturesque getaway, Rye is the perfect destination. The village boasts stunning views and an array of historic buildings that are sure to captivate your attention. The quaint antique shops add to the charm of the place. While it may take a bit of time to get there from London, the beauty and serenity of Rye make the journey well worth it.

A little bit of history here. Small tower over looking the marshes. Cute viewing terrace is good for watching the surrounding marshes. This tower has a lovely little garden and. The women’s prison on the corner of it. A great way of learning about the area and contributing to the community.

A beautiful castle, although not large. Located in a fantastic place by the swamps. A piece of history, entry only £5. We spent about 40 minutes there. Very nice service. I definitely recommend it!

Entry costs money but you can enjoy the stunning views and the exterior of the castle just from the outside. If you come up Mermaid Street here and take a different route back, you can enjoy beautiful views along the river in the area.

I have visited a castle and I must say it was quite a charming experience. Although the castle itself was on the smaller side, it had a cozy and intimate feel to it. The highlight of my visit was the beautiful old collection on display. It was fascinating to see such unique and well-preserved artifacts from the past. The castle is also a great place for sightseeing, as the surroundings are picturesque and offer some stunning views. Overall, it was a lovely visit and I would recommend this castle for anyone looking for a charming and educational experience.

Small but interesting look at a prison. Will not take long to look around. A few exhibits that you can play with and interesting stories of early justice. Really liked the work around then changes of the coastline.
